Its work is accomplished through three divisions: Workforce Development, Youth and Families, and OIC Strategic Integration (Social Enterprise Cooperation).
Position Summary:
The Director of Marketing, Communications, and Community Affairs, reporting to the President/CEO, shall conceptualize, develop, evaluate, and implement short and long-term communications, marketing and/or strategic engagement initiatives to elevate the brand of OIC of South Florida (OIC-SFL). Resulting activities shall net a greater visibility and solidification of OIC-SFL’s brand as a leader in the adult and youth workforce and human service arena in South Florida. Such efforts shall also yield diversified income opportunities that are solidified through fund development, turnkey program enrollment, and/or new partnership opportunities. OIC-SFL branding shall take a comprehensive approach, including both integrated campaigns and storytelling about the organizations mission and vision, its staff, students, alumni, and position on mission-related issues. The Director will be a thought leader on strategic planning opportunities and challenges, while working closely with the President/CEO and Board of Directors, as well as leading the facilitation of the day-to-day communications and marketing needs of staff throughout OIC-SFL.
The Director of Marketing, Communications, and Community Affairs shall be both a strategic thinker and an action-oriented team player with an ability to execute a variety of responsibilities in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment. The Director plays an active role in supporting and developing the staff in communication/marketing strategies and tactics. The Director must possess cross-functional management skills, provide oversight for a lean communications team, while also managing relationships with vendors and subcontractors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Strategic Marketing & Communications:
In coordination with the President/CEO and other Division Directors, develop communications strategies that will broaden visibility and reach, enhance partnerships across all OIC-SFL mission- related persons, institutions and initiatives in order deepen the impact of OIC-SFL.
Develop and manage a comprehensive annual communications plan, including a metrics with targeted persons, industries, organizations etc.
Lead the development, completion and strategic dissemination of OIC-SFL’s annual report and annual communication strategies and initiatives.
Lead the annual OIC student graduation along with the Directors of Training and Workforce Development.
Lead in the development and strategic rollout of all press releases, brand and programming social media and community outreach engagements, and event planning.
Develop and execute, in collaboration with the Training Manager, the OIC-SFL Alumni Association annual initiatives.
Assure timely, accurate and strategic articulation of OIC-SFL’s mission and vision on the organization’s website.
Work with OIC staff and Board to ensure powerful messaging and brand consistency across communications vehicles including the website, email and print newsletters, publications, and reports.
Guide the strategic and consistent use of media, event planning, and public relations opportunities for program and development staff, including developing and maintaining relationships with key media allies and internal stakeholders.
Publicly represent OIC-SFL with the media and external constituency groups, including community, governmental, and private organizations — while building excitement for OIC-SFL mission alongside and/or in instances where the President/CEO is not available .
Provide leadership insights in the engagement and rollout of all new initiatives with middle and senior level staff to assure high level kickoff and execution of all OIC-SFL initiatives.
Communications Support:
Oversee a lean communications team (e.g., Digital Media Specialist, Community Outreach Coordinator, Video/Photographer Technician, and Community Liaison) and provide strategic and day-to-day support.
Oversee the development of all organizational collateral to ensure brand consistency and excellent writing.
Fund Development:
Identify, manage and cultivate relationships with funders to secure and expand OIC’s revenue streams.
Lead in the coordination of all OIC fundraising events along with OIC CEO and Board of Directors.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communication or Marketing, and/or related fields. MBA in Marketing (preferred).
Seven (7) to ten (10) years of increasingly challenging experience in a diversified communications and/or marketing environment, leadership in developing and executing strategies preferably within education, workforce and or human services area — including at least seven (7) years of management experience.

Deep interest and passion in promoting the vision and mission of OIC-SFL.
Exceptional analytical, strategic and tactical ability, combined with expert relationship management skills and attention to detail.
Proven ability to develop an effective marketing and communications plan to achieve goals.
Experience pitching and developing strong relationships with traditional and new media as well as with potential funding entities.
Superb strategy, writing, editing and communications skills.
Experience in using online communications tools to enhance and amplify OIC-SFL’s core messages.
Experience providing creative communications support, editing support, and strategy to multiple internal project teams simultaneously.
Proven leadership ability and demonstrated success in a complex creative environment or organizational setting.
Strong management and mentoring skills and experience coaching and supporting senior leaders as spokespeople.
Ability to both work independently and take direction from others, to solve problems with limited supervision, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
