Director of Health Information Management Job at East Mississippi State Hospital
East Mississippi State Hospital Meridian, MS 39307
Education: Bachelor of Science Degree in Health Information Management or Associate of Science Degree in Health Information Technology (RHIA or RHIT) or comparable education and credential.
Experience: Minimum of five (3 - 5) years of supervisory experience in a health information management department in an acute care setting or clinical setting.
Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) by the American Health Information Management Association.
Responsible for the coordination of work performance of the Health Information Management Department including managing coding and abstracting of health information, transcription, documentation completion, vital events, electronic medical record, release of information, clinical documentation improvement, medical necessity review and compliance, performance improvement, inpatient and outpatient medical record audits, audit results review and appeals for all EMSH sites. Compiles, aggregates and analyzes data to verify correct and timely completion of charts. Responsible for accurate compilation of the monthly statistical report for all quality improvement needs. Ensures health information documentation complies with hospital policies and procedures, State and Federal regulations and Joint Commission standards.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $75,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
