Director of Entrepreneurship & Small Business Job at Greater Topeka Partnership
GO Topeka seeks an outgoing, organized, professional to build relationships and to work with various entities to establish successful economic impact serving as the organizations Director of Entrepreneurship and Small Business.
Major Duties:
- Administer and oversee the small business incentive program.
- Act as liaison to Small Business Council.
- As part of GO Topeka business attraction team, engage with local, regional, global startups to understand their needs, and connect them to local and regional resources.
- In collaboration with SVP of Innovation and GO Topeka team, build local, regional, and national partnerships with universities, economic development organizations, and industry associations to produce impactful results for growth in the Topeka and Shawnee County community.
- Lead, implement, or collaborate in the execution of meetings, networking events and training programs.
- Research and report on best practices related to effectively managing entrepreneurial ecosystems, effective incentive programs and impactful programing.
A Strong Candidate will possess:
- 3 to 5 years of experience in business professional setting preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required.
- Resident of Shawnee County within 18 months of hire date.
- Valid Driver’s License required for moderate local travel (10%) to various client and business-related locations.
- In-depth knowledge of Topeka’s business community required.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish fact, and draw valid conclusions.
- Strong computer and word-processing skills, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, CRM systems.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing with staff, the business community and business prospects.
- Ability to work with broad cross-section of personalities in a respectful manner, with demonstrated poise, tact, and diplomacy to handle sensitive and confidential information and situations.

Pay: $55,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
