The Director of Enterprise Application Services (EAS) serves on the Information Technology Services leadership team to oversee the planning, coordination, and implementation of Enterprise Application Services goals and objectives that align with the strategic direction of The Citadel. The Director leads the EAS team responsible for the technical coordination of enterprise systems related to Human Resources, Payroll, Student Services, Finance, Academic Services, and other functional departments. This role also directs IT Portfolio and Project Management to enable the successful delivery of programs undertaken by The Citadel Information Technology Services through effective facilitation, tracking and reporting. In addition, the EAS director will help guide the IT and Data Governance function, ensuring goals and deadlines are achieved.

The Citadel is continuously investing in modernizing IT systems to meet the needs of today’s students. The EAS Director will have the opportunity to lead the management and modernization of The Citadel’s systems, help end users with technology adoption, implement innovative methods for system analysis and process improvement, participate in IT Governance committees, and grow their leadership skills. In addition, the Director will have the opportunity to explore new ideas to cultivate innovation across campus.

The Director, Enterprise Application Services is an Administrative, Full-Time, 12- month appointment based on a schedule established by the Chief Information Officer. The position involves frequent handling of confidential information and records. Work contacts include administrators, faculty, staff, community-based organizations, and governmental agencies.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Oversee high-impact, highly visible enterprise-wide strategic programs or initiatives.
  • Direct a professional technical team to fulfill IT service delivery commitments.
  • Manage technical and functional coordination of Ellucian Banner (ERP) and related systems and processes; provide ERP subject-matter expertise to clients, including but not limited to HR, Finance, Student Services, Academic Services, and other departments.
  • Track and report on project portfolio performance, providing a real-time, comprehensive, and prioritized view of projects.
  • Monitor work-in-progress statuses, consult with assigned staff to assist with complex/problem situations, and provide management with progress and activity reports.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degrees in management, information systems, business administration, or related field

Preferred Requirements:

  • Master’s Degree or MBA preferred
  • Five years of progressively responsible information technology experience – higher education preferred
  • Experience with Ellucian Banner, Slate CRM or other higher education focused ERP/HCM/CRM/Finance applications
