Position Summary
As a
Director of Continuous Improvement, you will implement a Lean/Six Sigma culture by coordinating Continuous Improvement initiatives while working closely with all teams within the organization to provide support and /or revisions to work processes, systems, and documentation. In this position you will be required to successfully implement Lean/TPS principles in several manufacturing operations that offer a diverse mix of Made-to-Order interior building products. This department will aid in the seamless & cost-effective delivery of all products and services, while maximizing the utilization of all material and labor resources. This will include the integration of superior process reliability, resulting in the delivery of high-quality products that exceed industry standards.
What You Will Do
- Develop and lead a team of Continuous Improvement Engineers and provide support as they implement Continuous Improvement projects across all facilities.
- Oversee the Continuous Improvement program across all areas of the business.
- Deploy best-in-class training, tools, and methodologies to allow the Continuous Improvement team to expose problems, provide guidance and empower them to solve problems.
- Implement a consistent, error-free operating model throughout the company. Create a framework to implement best practices at all production facilities.
- Educate leaders at all levels on Lean manufacturing/ Six Sigma principles and philosophies.
- Evaluate and Establish KPI across all branches and areas of business and ensure sustainability.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree (Prefer focus in Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering)
- Master’s Degree preferred
- Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Required
- 10+ years of demonstrated Continuous Improvement Leadership in a manufacturing environment.
- Hands-on experience with Lean/Six Sigma tools such as value-stream mapping, fish bone diagrams, pareto diagrams, 5S, Kanban, Standard Work
- Demonstrated success in establishing a Continuous Improvement Culture that results in improvements in Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost
- Experience developing subordinates, as well as engaging and motivating other coworkers at all levels.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting to executives and senior management
- Ability to establish credibility with internal and external stakeholders.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) Preferred.
