The Director of Complex Behavior and Autism Services reports to the Sr. Director of Specialty Services, and is responsible for the overall program implementation, administrative management, and clinical operations of complex behavior and autism services programming. This position provides leadership and support for multiple home-based, community-based and clinic-based service groups including functional behavior assessment (FBA), behavior consultation, intervention, and supports, and autism assessments. This position will also collaborate and support the planning and creation of community-based ABA therapy services in conjunction with the program leadership. This position includes extensive program development, and the Director will be expected to provide direct services initially as they build up a client caseload and program operations. In addition, the Director of Complex Behavior and Autism Services is responsible for maintaining and overseeing the quality of all assigned programming, creation and implementation of policies and procedures, and overall training, monitoring, growth, and success of this program throughout the agency and community. This includes consulting with the direct supervisors and service staff (i.e., Clinical Supervisor, Program Coordinator, Team Lead, Behavioral Health Technician, and administrative staff).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (with or without accommodations):

  • Develop programing with input from stakeholders, utilizing best practice models in serving children, families, and adults, and integrate them into the existing BH outpatient clinics and community programming.
  • Work in partnership with the EBF Quality Management team in evaluating programs and adjusting program delivery based on evaluation.
  • Oversee program operations, ensuring that they comply with AHCCCS, health plans, private insurance plans, and state contractual and regulatory requirements.
  • Network with stakeholders and develop strategic partnerships to promote program growth.
  • Research and assist with grant and contract opportunities.
  • Analyze clinical data and create programming to promote growth within different populations and funding streams.
  • Host and/or engage in community outreach initiatives such as events for families or professionals, lunch and learns, resource fairs, career fairs, fundraising, and more.
  • Drive program growth and expansion initiatives through community outreach, networking, and business development.
  • Under the direction of the Administration team, this position is responsible for managing the program budget by monitoring expenses, hiring, and productivity.
  • Work under the direction of the EBF Administration team to ensure all program business operations, quality management practices, and compliance measures meet regulatory standards.
  • Assist supervisors in developing new clinical programming addressing gaps in the community.
  • Interview, hire, train, supervise, and support clinical staff.
  • Monitor regularly scheduled administrative, clinical, and reflective supervision, individually and in a group setting.
  • Monitor quality of work and provide feedback through audits, reviews, and regular supervision.
  • Monitor service provision to ensure clinical staff are documenting all direct clinical services in the Electronic Health Record and are therefore meeting productivity requirements.
  • Implement company policies and protocol in a timely and respectful manner.
  • Provide client supervision, staffing, and direct case management as needed to identify, support, develop, and implement individualized goals consistent with evidence-based methodologies.
  • Conduct individual and/or group supervision with supervisory/management staff on a weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly basis dependent upon need and contract requirements.
  • BHP review of clinical treatment plans, assessments, documentation, and treatment integrity data in cooperation and collaboration with supervisor(s).
  • Work collaboratively with scheduling, recruiting, client services, and operations to manage daily agency needs.
  • Attend all required trainings and meetings per contractual agreements or as assigned.
  • Facilitate staff meetings to disseminate information, oversight, and case presentations.
  • Develop and provide trainings as deemed necessary.
  • Ensure assessment, planning, and implementation of clinical interventions.
  • Any other duties as assigned.
Requirements:

Education -

  • Master’s degree in behavioral health or related field (social work, counseling, psychology, education, public health).
  • Independently licensed behavior analyst (LBA) in the State of Arizona or eligible to obtain licensure in the state of Arizona
  • Current certification as a BCBA and in good standing with the BACB and Arizona Board of Psychologist Examiners.

Experience –

  • Prior experience as a clinical supervisor
  • Prior experience as a director preferred
  • Prior experience in applied behavior analysis and supervision of direct services and programming
  • Prior experience with specialty assessments including Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS) and Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs).

Regulatory –

  • Minimum 21 years of age.
  • Clean criminal background check and the ability to obtain and maintain an AZ DPS Level 1 fingerprint clearance card.
  • Current valid, unrestricted driver’s license, proof of insurance, and a driving record that meets the standards of the agency.
  • Personal vehicle in safe/operable condition for work-related appointments.
  • Obtain and maintain CPR and First Aid certification.
