About the Position
The Director, Business Development, Workforce Solutions (WFS) manages the business development and related operations for the University’s corporate and government vertical. The individual develops and implements annual strategic sales plans to attain sales objectives and grow revenue for the University, manages the sales efforts of the WFS account executives, and manages sales support to ensure efficiencies and customer satisfaction. The Director, Business Development builds and maintains positive relationships with all internal and external stakeholders and ensures seamless continuity of sales to account management transitions and outcomes within the Client Success and Engagement area of WFS.
What You’ll Do:
1. Collaborate closely with leadership and cross functional members of WFS management team to drive and implement WFS and University strategy and long-range planning. Utilize market research to develop a successful annual sales plan grounded in solutions-based approaches. Assist in identifying portfolio, financing, technology and/or organizational gaps and recommend plans for how to best address them.
2. Work collaboratively with WFS leadership to develop and execute strategies and solutions to support implementation of business-to-business relationships and successfully support the long-term aspects of account relationships. Provide management support to account executives and others in the delivery of unified and scalable processes through which client solutions are identified, developed, and executed.
3. Implement and manage effective and efficient sales processes, including client information gathering, custom survey development and RFP preparation, and related policies and procedures. Monitor and ensure compliance with all departmental and University policies and procedures, as well as federal and state regulations as they relate to the delivery of the support functions.
4. Develop and track metrics to ascertain effectiveness of sales and other training within the sales organization; recommend and implement evaluation procedures to determine training efficiency and effectiveness.
5. Build and maintain key strategic relationships, including clients and strategic partnerships, to foster leading edge solutions for the business and education community. Research emerging trends and recommend new University offerings to meet clients’ needs.
6. Select, mentor, coach and evaluate staff; establish and monitor appropriate employee performance objectives; prepare and present employee performance discussions, including one-on-one meetings and quarterly check-ins; implement mentoring and coaching plans, or correction action, where appropriate.
7. Perform other duties as assigned or apparent.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s Degree
Ten (10) years of direct sales and/or business development experience that includes at least three (3) years of people management/leadership experience
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s Degree
- Experience in consultative sales or operations leadership, presenting comprehensive business partner solutions to senior-level executives
- Proven leadership ability to influence, develop and empower employees to achieve business objectives; inspiring others to support a shared vision and common goals
- High level of analytical, conceptual, problem solving, and strategic thinking skills to lead the development of, and understand and anticipate the impact of, strategies, goals, objectives, processes, and activities that will cross multiple critical projects
- High level of attention to detail and an ability to coordinate various details and deadlines for successful implementation and support of Workforce Solutions objectives
- Able to navigate throughout an organization to interact with key decision makers and other executives
- Able to work collaboratively and effectively across departments, functions, cultures, and time zones
- Experience with Salesforce

Hiring range for this position is between $109600 and $145000.
