L.A.W. Residential Support Specialist LLC. is a small business operating as a Family Model Sponsored Group Home contracted with Wall Residences in Roanoke, VA. Our goal is to provide the best quality of life for the individuals who reside in our group home. L.A.W. Residential Support Services is a community-based organization, offering residential support to adults with intellectual disabilities 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Training, assistance, and supervision are available to enable individuals to acquire, maintain, and improve their health, development, physical condition, and overall well-being. L.A.W. L.A.W. Residential Support Services, LLC. Provides direct individual services including but not limited to individual counseling, coaching, training, participating, volunteering, supervision in daily living skills within the home and/or community, etc. along with all appropriate documentation for providing these services including but not limited to daily ISP goals that are discussed in their individual service plan, health record notes, medication administration record keeping, etc.

  • Assists the Director (D) and/or Residential Support Specialist (RSS), in compiling information for monthly, quarterly, and annual reviews at the delegation of the (D) to ensure Program Managers have proper documents to compile the monthly, quarterly and annual reviews.
  • Cleaning duties to include maintenance of individual bedrooms, bathrooms in the group home, organization of common areas such as but not limited to the kitchen, living room, dining room, basement if the house has one, activity center (arts and crafts), and laundry area; if other areas are needed then the DSP will assist in the maintenance
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must hold a valid VA driver’s license if the position requires the need to drive company vehicles, (good standing driving record)
  • Ensures that all individuals have appropriate clothing and necessities prior to community activities, scheduled appointments, home visits, etc. i.e., appropriate seasonal clothing, and size, appropriate clothing available at all times (to go bag), incontinence supplies, meal/snack/drink if it occurs within the scheduled activity time; DSP will ensure that these items are prepared and ready to go prior to scheduled activities.

  • Will coordinate amongst Community Service Program(s) to ensure that all individuals are ready to go as Community Support Professional has planned and placed on household calendars.
  • Works closely with other DSPs to ensure the care of all individuals receiving services is met.
  • Provides support to the Residential Support Specialist to ensure all individuals are receiving proper medical attention this can include but not limited to medication needs, medical concerns such as change in mental status or physical impairments, request of a doctor appointment, etc.
  • DSP will wear an ID badge during all work shifts; must always be visible

Salary Range:

$13.95-14.45 per hour tier 1 $29.K-30K Entry level 1 (no previous employee referred experience)

$14.95-15.55 per hour tier 2 $31k-32.3 Entry level 2 (1.5 years of verified experience in medical field, CNA, PCA.)

$16.25-17.05 per hour tier 3 $34K-35.4K Associate’s degree; (2.5 years of verified experience working with ID/DD, and or Mental Health Trained)

$18.05-19.25 per hour tier 4 $37.52K-40K Bachelor's in Human Services, QMHP, QMHP-A, QMHPPA approved by the Board of Counseling. (4.5 years of verified experience working with ID/DD and or Mental Health population to include Certification in Behavioral Supports)

Previous experience in the Human Service field is not required; CNA or PCA previous training preferred. Understanding of ID/DD diagnosis and Person-Centered Planning. Salary is determined based on having a valid driver's license with a clean driving record, Human Service bachelor's degree, years of experience and fieldwork. All applicants will be considered who meet the following.
