Responsibilities:
Position Overview
Under the general supervision of the Director Digital Strategy & Creative Services, with dotted line to Director of Marketing & Communications, the Marketing & Communications Assistant assists with administrative duties, special projects, and various digital, creative, public relations and communications projects. Performs other related duties as assigned or directed to meet the goals and objectives of the department. Works with Director Digital Strategy & Creative Services on administrative tasks, reports and other needs. This role is perfect for someone extremely organized, creative, detail-oriented, proactive and communicative who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the marketing team with planning, coordinating, and monitoring campaigns
  • Take part in assisting with in-person Youth Villages events to facilitate their success and photography needs.
  • Ability to work independently and as a part of a cross-functional team in a fast-paced environment; must be a self-starter able to work well under pressure
  • Draft marketing materials, emails, and other marketing collateral
  • Compile data, prepares publicity and other department reports (such as quarterly board reports)
  • Ability to learn and work across various types of software platforms
  • Supports administratively Communications leadership by managing accounts payable (invoicing, reconciling of credit card account, receipt collection, etc.), calendars, organizing meetings, and providing recap meeting notes and other administrative tasks as needed.
  • Assist team with testing various digital campaigns to ensure optimal performance
  • Assists with uploading information to the Newsroom on youthvillages.org.
  • Conducts 2-3x annually audit of all Youth Villages trademarks to safeguard against any infringement.
  • Works closely with vendors (i.e., printers, videographers) as necessary to get jobs out effectively.
  • Helps maintain Communications photo archives.
  • Organizes and updates digital asset database, including but not limited to tagging, uploading of photos, etc.
  • Organizes and manages the storage assets, video equipment, banners, etc., including ordering office supplies for the department.
  • Stay up-to-date on best practices and strategies for marketing.
  • Proficient writer with the ability as needed to write copy if needed for marketing materials at the request of manager or director, familiar with AP Style.
  • Performs additional duties at the request of the Director of Digital Strategy or Director of Marketing and Communications

**The Digital Marketing Assistant is an office-based position. Schedule is Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm. This is not a remote position.

Qualifications:
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in integrated marketing, public relations, graphic design, or communications (required)
  • At least one year of experience in digital marketing, public relations and/or communications (required)
  • Previous internship experience may be considered as part of applicable work history
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required
  • Digital experience preferred (email campaigns, web & social updates/maintenance, mobile, digital marketing, etc.)
  • Experience with Canva is helpful but not required
  • Proficiency in all Social Media platforms a plus
