Roles and Responsibilities:
Job Summary/Overview:
The Technician I at SAS is responsible for performing functions associated with all manufacturing and/or system operations, such as working with engineers and manufacturing in set-up and calibration tasks, system support, preventative maintenance, failure analysis, documenting/following standard operating procedures, as well as performing rework and quality testing related to the process and production of memory chips and logic. Uses sophisticated programs to collect and evaluate operating data to conduct in-line adjustments to products, instruments, equipment, or processes. In addition, determines and may assist in developing methods and procedures to control or modify the manufacturing process. Requires compliance with all health, safety and environmental management system guidelines.
Specific Job Duties:
- Follows standard operating procedures to ensure equipment/processes/systems are running effectively and/or to respond to failure, maintenance needs, quality issues, incidents, damaged areas and/or defect issues
- Applies company policies and procedures to resolve routine issues
- Utilizes detailed instructions on SOPs to perform activities (i.e., PM card, CPM table, calibrations, inspections and/or construction tasks etc.)
- Provides support for new and existing equipment start ups
- Gathers data and inputs it into relevant SAS systems
- Monitors trends by observing change points and following escalation plans if any deviation occurs
- Performance analysis and either follows detailed scripts to perform troubleshooting or escalates issue as needed
- Utilizes the key takeaways leaned from day to fay activities to make recommendation to senior staff regarding potential improvements
- May maintain proficiency as a key ERT member
- May generate purchase orders and order material
- Operates and retrieves data from equipment
- Works from schematics, diagrams, written/verbal instructions, layouts or defined plans
- Applies knowledge of relevant best practices, state and local code in area of expertise
- Regular attendance and timeliness is required per departmental guidelines

Skills and Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or technical school certification preferred
- Preferred 0-3 years of experience
- Strong mechanical aptitude highly desired
- Highly capable in MS Word, Excel and Power Point
- Must have strong communication, teamwork, analytical and problem solving skills
- Focused on continuous improvement in fast-paced, changing environment
- High level of initiative and desire to learn
- Familiar with TPM concepts
- Successful candidates will be detail and task oriented and place high value on customer service, team work and flexibility.
- Ability to meet due dates for action items
