$13 to $15.50 Per Hour

As a Dining Assistant, you'll help nursing personnel provide feeding assistance to residents who do not have complicated feeding problems such as difficulty swallowing, recurrent lung aspirations, or tube/iv feedings. You'll work under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN) or a licensed practical nurse (LPN) on duty.

You'll need to have completed a State-Approved Paid Feeding Assistant Training course that covers feeding techniques, assistance with feeding and hydration, communication and interpersonal skills, safety and emergency procedures, infection control, resident rights, recognizing changes in residents' behavior, and reporting changes to the supervisory nurse.

You'll Be Responsible For:

• Helping residents get to & from the dining room for meal services
• Assisting with set up of the dining room & pre-meal tasks related to table set up, drinks, dignity, etc.
• Passing trays & drinks to residents in the dining room
• Delivering & setting up trays in the patient rooms
• Assisting & feeding residents who have no complicated feeding problems
• Answering call lights as needed before or after meals to allow the nursing department to focus on resident ADL & medication needs.
• Assisting with ice & water to patients between meals including the hydration cart & night time (HS) snack pass.

You'll Need To Have:

• Successfully completed a State-approved Paid Feeding Assistant Training course
• A passion for providing excellent food service to residents
• The ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• The ability to stand for long periods of time
• The ability to work independently as well as with a team
