Reporting to the Chief Development Officer, the Development Coordinator is responsible for managing the department’s donor data, correspondence, and reporting. The Development Coordinator additionally supports the team in all aspects of the fundraising cycle.
After a six-month period in-person training, this position can be hybrid – working remotely up to 40% of the time.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manages all aspects of the Financial Resource Department (FRD) donor software including gift entry and acknowledgment, donor data integrity, list management and reporting, and donor and prospect stewardship and tracking.
- Provides regular as well as ad hoc analysis and reports (financial and analytical) to the FRD team and JCC leadership to ensure institutional accountability to donors.
- Manages the JCC tributes program, including donor and volunteer relations.
- Attends, records, and distributes the minutes from FRD Team meetings, JCC Culture of Philanthropy Committee meetings and other meetings as requested.
- Works in partnership with the accounting department to ensure internal accuracy and consistency across the agency.
- Manages process of regular donor mailings such as appeals, reports and donor greeting cards, ensuring quality control through every step.
- As part of FRD team, assumes responsibilities as assigned for JCC special events, including KidShare and the PyraMax Bank Association Four-Ball Golf Challenge; may include evenings and weekends.
- Celebrates donors through recognition, stewarding, planning, signage, special events and personal communications.
- Works closely with JCC program staff, and with lay chairs and committees as needed.
- Assumes Manager on Duty responsibilities as assigned which includes approximately 3-4 weekend shifts per year.
- Performs other duties and assumes additional responsibilities as needed.
- Represents the JCC in a professional manner and promotes the JCC within the community.
- Actively promotes and practices the organization’s Rules of Positive Communication.

Qualifications Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements (KSAs)
- Highly skilled in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM platforms.
- Prior knowledge or ability to learn fund development software.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously while ensuring attention to accuracy, quality, and meeting deadlines.
- Ability to be flexible and adaptable within a dynamic work environment.
- Ability to work with confidential data and maintain the same.
- Ability to contribute effectively in both autonomous and team environments while appropriately discerning between the two.
- Knowledge of philanthropy and fundraising principles a plus.
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or related field.
- 1-2 years in fundraising, communication or project/program coordination preferred.
- Proficient capabilities working within Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.
- Experience with fundraising software platforms is preferred.
- Professional experience in the non-profit sector preferred.
