The Virginia Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) is seeking a qualified candidate to provide technical assistance, funding management, policy recommendations for juvenile detention facilities while maintaining an effective partnership with the local agencies.

Minimum Qualifications
The successful candidate for this position will have comprehensive knowledge of community based juvenile justice systems and programs. Ability to analyze, develop and implement statewide policy and procedures. Ability to compile and analyze information and make recommendations. Demonstrated ability to apply budget development and funding distribution methodologies, data collection and evaluation techniques. Ability to use Microsoft word processing, excel and database software packages. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to lead professional and interagency task groups. Ability to develop and present training and technical assistance materials. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with state and local officials, employees and managers. Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple competing priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited college or university with major course work in public administration, sociology, criminology, criminal justice research or an equivalent combination of professional level training and experience. Extensive experience in juvenile justice or related planning, budget, research, program administration or evaluation including a consulting or project leadership role.
