Design Engineer job responsibilities include:

  • Develop design solutions to support existing products or support the creation of new products
  • Create and execute test plans to validate new designs or revisions to existing designs
  • Communicate/coordinate with internal departments as needed to support ongoing projects
  • Develop and provide key product specifications to Production and Quality departments
  • Design and create prototypes to demonstrate and verify the form, fit, and function of designs.
  • Develop innovative solutions to support new products or revisions to existing products
  • Manage engineering projects and timelines through project planning and timely execution of tasks
  • Communicate project scope and status updates to leadership through written communication and presentations
  • Manage multiple projects concurrently while adhering to budget and schedule restraints
  • Take projects from concept, through prototyping and testing, to production readiness.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited course of study in engineering
  • One to four years of engineering experience and will consider internships.
  • Experience with Solidworks and AutoCAD (Preferred but not required)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Project, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with root cause analysis tools (8D, DMAIC, RedX, etc.)
  • Experience predicting potential failure modes (design FMEA, Fishbone, 5-Whys, etc.)
