We are looking for a competent dental assistant who will make the dentist’s office more efficient and pleasant for patients. This Dental Assistant position will provide direct patient care services for Panhandle Pediatric Dentistry under direct supervision of our Dentist(s). Dental assistants should be well-organized with great attention to detail. You should be able to follow instructions and respect dental office regulations. We want you to be skilled in providing direct or indirect patient care and able to make office procedures as smooth as possible.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome customers in the dental office
  • Prepare customers for treatments or checkups ensuring their comfort
  • Select and set up instruments, equipment and material needed
  • Sterilize instruments according to regulations
  • Efficiently performing four-handed dentistry
  • Ability to properly chart dental dentition (treatment planning)
  • Ability to take digital diagnostic x-rays
  • Undertake lab tasks as instructed
  • Provide oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions
  • Keep the dental operatory clean and well-stocked

Skills

  • Proven experience as dental assistant
  • Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods
  • Understanding of health & safety regulations
  • Ability to complete procedures for hygiene and operative appointments
  • Computer skills and knowledge in Electronic Health Records
  • Strong communication skills to accurately deliver necessary information to dentists, patient, parent/guardian and other staff
  • Attention to detail, well-organized and reliable
  • Ability to assist with preventive, therapeutic and surgical clinical procedures
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others

Qualifications

  • Must have a High School Diploma or its equivalent.
  • Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) certificate, or Graduate from a formal accredited dental assisting school in accordance with Florida Administrative Code Rule: 64B5-16.002
  • Must have valid and active Drivers License

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.50 - $21.00 per hour
