Scope of Job
- RCM is seeking a Data Governance Specialist for our leading communication client in Puerto Rico.
- Develop detailed knowledge of client Media's data, data flows, and processes
- Drive alignment on data decisions and enterprise definitions across different business units and stakeholders
- Help support the data committee, including sourcing agenda items, socializing proposed solutions, and communicating decisions
- Partner with stakeholders to get buy-in on, develop, and implement client Media's data management standards, policies, and best practices
- Develop and implement practical strategies, plans, and solutions to identified issues and problems with data
- Actively solicit stakeholder feedback on solutions and drive improvements as needed
- Design and develop training programs to educate data producers and consumers on new data management processes across the data lifecycle
- Gather requirements for any technology needed to sustainably implement data management standards; partner with product and engineering teams to drive development
- Recommend KPIs and develop reports to monitor adoption of and adherence to data management standards
- Share regular updates with senior-level stakeholders and large-scale audiences regarding proposed solutions, timelines, progress, and issues
- Define data elements and establish policies and procedures that enable successful collection and accuracy of our critical business data
- Improve the 360-degree view of our data hub to drive insights to our internal teams from Marketing, Commercial Team to Support.
- Work closely with internal groups to define, implement, and communicate data governance and operations frameworks
- Manage, grow, and develop a strong strategy focused on data operations, data quality measurement and reporting, supporting cleanliness, and adhoc needs at the speed of the business
- Review the business processes and workflows needed for strengthening data management and play a major role in identifying, cleaning, and assuring the data.
- Build reporting and monitoring of our most critical data and show how initiatives are driving step change improvement in those numbers
- Drive compliance with the client's data management policy, framework, and related guidelines.
- Assess opportunities to expand coverage of the Data Governance Policy and Framework
- Govern adoption of the client Media's data strategy, building upon the business objectives and targets.
- Develop/evolve appropriate key performance indicators across data quality, risk, and drive standardized data governance and management practices across the organization
- Act as a key point of contact to our divisional business partners, technology, and data management office.
- Understand the content and the potential data challenges being faced across the organization.
- Identify and understand data quality trends
- Collaborate with other areas within the Data Management Committee, providing inputs / requirements for tooling and lineage, driving a common strategy, and enhancing our processes and methodology understand main upcoming regulatory changes or business division strategic business activities and its impact on data within the business.
- Execute on the data governance roadmap.
- Evolve the vision and ensure proper buy in from key leaders in the organization.
- Regular communication of priorities and strategies to the Data Governance Committee
- Set data quality expectations, SLAs, and monitoring requirements
- Monitors and reports on data management requirements and compliance issues, impacts and resolution status.
- Develop, maintain, clean inventory of the company data assets.
- Facilitate the development and implementation of data quality standards.
- Ensure team is achieving KPI's and foster an environment that generates breakthrough ideas and lead a collaborative and open organization that lives the values of client Media.
- Participate actively in the talent acquisition and onboarding process of new hires, training programs development and performance management in partnership with the HR Business Partner.
Qualifications
- Experience with SQL or equivalent database querying language
- Experience with process design, implementation, and improvement
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience working with multiple teams to drive alignment and results
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills
- Attention to detail, sense of urgency, and commitment to deadlines
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify, quantify, and effectively raise business risks associated with data quality or non-compliance
- Strong understanding of databases and data structures
- Strong organization and project management skills
- Strong leadership skills
- Experience developing best practices, policies, and/or procedures
- Good leadership and coaching skills.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate key information and status to stakeholders, support personnel and clients.
- Able to multi-task with a high degree of time management and organizational skills; capable of looking ahead and managing client and employees needs with precision planning and anticipation.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and Power Point .
- Fully bilingual (Spanish/English).
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Science/Computer Science/Mathematics/Analytics or equivalent in a related field
- 6+ years industry experience as a business analyst, data analyst, data governance analyst, or in a data quality management role
