Data Engineer
Location: Columbus, OH (northwest area of city) - hybrid

Data engineers are key members of the data team. Their focus on automation for moving, storing, and sharing data is foundational to the success of our customers.

Things You’ll Do

• Automate. Design and write tooling with modern cloud tools to automate data movement into and out of the business.

• Influence. Work closely with teams inside and outside of the company to help them make good choices about moving, storing, and sharing data.

• Manage, monitor, and plan. Manage modern cloud compute/infrastructure and security for data services including the all-important data lake and its consumers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Write tooling to automate tasks related to moving, storing, and sharing data.

• Assist with implementation of tooling.

• Manage data lake structure, content, and permissions.

• Monitor and manage processes and tooling for performance and reliability.

• Advise people on non-date teams about how to better move, store, and share data.

• Maintain fluency in API’s, event streams, and file-based data sources.

• Document processes and tooling.

• Participate in a guild with other data engineers to identify common challenges and provide common solutions.
