POSITION SUMMARY
In this role, you will protect company sensitive data and safeguard data critical to Marinette's Contracts with the DoD. You will provide support for all unresolved/escalated network or security related incidents. You will provide insight on your analysis of data collected, company trends, and other report statistics that will be presented to the board. You will also serve as a project manager on various data security and network projects as well as be an advocate for continuous process improvements to promote consistency, structure, and increased efficiencies within the different departments of IT and across the organization.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Protect company data through the use of tools, appliances, and procedures
  • Analyze raw logs identifying malicious activity and generate reports
  • Audit and perform compliance for NIST 800-171 and CMMC
  • Enforce existing security procedures and raise security awareness
  • Utilize vulnerability management tools to identify gaps in security
  • Ensure that the network is free of security breaches
  • Maintain data classification tools and procedures
  • Analyze firewall rules at boundary ingress/egress points
  • Review and troubleshoot escalated data security and network issues, ensuring problems are properly defined, documented, and either resolved or escalated further for management review
  • Troubleshoot network and data security applications to provide solutions using specific product knowledge, system utilities, and other available resources
  • Follow established policies, procedures, operating instructions and processes to provide quality customer support to clients via email, telephone and in-person contact in conjunction with the established Help Desk Management Application
  • Maintain working knowledge of network and data security applications, related policies, procedures, application installations, system configurations, current hardware, and network configuration practices through on-going training and self-initiated research and study
  • Demonstrate a consistent sense of urgency on high priority open issues to ensure timely resolution
  • Ensure timely follow up to all assigned support issues and data requests
  • Work with employees to make sure they are educated on security protocols
  • Participate on special projects as required
  • Provide after-hours on-call support as scheduled
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

SKILLS:
  • Understanding of security incidents/events reporting applications like SIEM
  • Understanding of Windows server 2016 and newer
  • Understanding of server and software virtualization
  • Ability to analyze spam email and protect the network from viruses
  • Basic knowledge of cisco switches and routers
  • Basic understanding of Linux
  • Basic understanding of encryption protocols
  • Basic understanding of Identity Access Management
  • Basic understanding of how to use an enterprise ticketing system

While performing the duties of this job, the employee's workspace is in a clean and comfortable climate-controlled setting with little to no exposure to the moving equipment, elements, extreme conditions, or risk of injury. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet. When entering the shipyard, the work environment is not climate-controlled and there is exposure to moving equipment, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or related area of study preferred but can also be met with an Associate's Degree with 2-5 years of relatable experience
  • U.S citizenship required
  • Successful candidate must be eligible to obtain and maintain a personnel security clearance subsequent to a U.S. Government personnel security background investigation
  • CompTIA Security+ preferred
  • Certified Network Associate (CCNA) preferred
  • Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) preferred
