Cutting Machine Maintenance - Operator Job at Contec Inc.
Overview: The primary purpose of this position is to provide coverage and run the lasers, laminator and/or the ultrasonic slitter when the primary operator is absent.
Responsibilities:
- Meets regular and reliable work-site attendance requirements in order to perform the job and meet productivity standards.
- Reviews drawings, travelers, and control plans provided for individual production orders and proceses them accordingly.
- Operates and troubleshoots the lasers and counting scale; the laminator and/or the ultrasonic slitter.
- Sets up and performs changeover of the lasers, laminator and/or ultrasonic slitter per the CPPS document.
- Rebuilds stacks on ultrasonic horns, performs preventative maintenance, and troubleshoots equipment.
- Follows proper safety procedures when using the lasers, laminator and/or ultrasonic slitter and the corresponding hoist equipment.
- Performs quality inspection/measurements for each shop order.
- Issues materials to shop orders in computer system.
- Orders, gathers, and loads the necessary raw materials needed to complete the shop order.
- Makes folders, prints labels, issues, and closes shop orders, and places product in the correct area.
- Closes work orders and places product in the correct area.
- Follows 5S standards in the work area.
- Participates in periodic training programs regarding safety, product specifications; quality; and operation.
- Participates and works within ISO 9001 quality standards guidelines in accordance with Contec’s quality goals.
- Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); 2-3 years slitter or maintenance experience required.
