Working in customer service requires patience and listening skills; providing outstanding customer service requires dedication. As a DePaul Central Specialist (Customer Service Representative), dedication to our students and their families is what sets us apart from any other customer service position you’ve held. Serving 23,000 students and parents, you are the front and center knowledge holder of the University. You will accurately and proactively provide outstanding customer service resolution to inquiries involving the financial aid, registration, and payment processes that lead to retention.
What You’ll Do
- A successful DePaul Central Specialist loves helping others! Our ideal candidate must be a service-oriented generalist who can find and relay correct information on a variety of topics to a diverse population.
- You know how to help customers, even when they are stressed or upset. You have the skills to stay calm, be patient, show empathy, and deliver the help they need without taking it personally.
- You have the ability to pivot and change gears within a moment’s notice. From staying up-to-date with changing policies to relocating offices, you stay positive and redirect as needed.
- The right candidate will be comfortable communicating through multiple channels, including in-person, email, chat, virtual, and phone.
- In 6 months, you will be able to comfortably navigate our CRM (Customer Relations Management) and other databases.
What You’ll Need
- 1+ years of customer service experience.
- Knowledge of or willingness to learn, understand, and accurately abide by and explain regulatory compliance standards related to FERPA and federal financial compliance.
Time and Place
- Staff will work on campus for designated times weekly as well as remote for other days.
- Campus locations may vary.
- Staff may be asked to work evenings or weekends for special events.
