Environmental Services is critical to the functioning of an effective hospital. Patients are only able to get their rooms as quickly as their rooms are prepared, which means that patients will not receive the care that they need if their rooms are not prepared quickly and safely.

These positions are for a new and busy hospital in the Poway area.

Job Description:

• Cleaning patient rooms - taking out trash, cleaning bathrooms, disinfecting areas, replacing dirty linens, sweeping, mopping, etc.
• Cleaning unit hallways - picking up trash, disinfecting high touch areas, sweeping, mopping, etc.
• Collects/stores/transports biohazardous waste
• Provide great customer service to patients and visitors
• Must work with a sense of urgency
• Maintains the necessary inventory of equipment and supplies to meet departmental needs
• Responsible for utilizing appropriate work practices commensurate with the environment of work to include working with neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, mature adults, older adults and psychiatric care patients
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Follows rules, policies, procedures, applicable laws and standards

Qualifications Needed:

• Must have good customer service skills
• Must have a positive attitude and be a team player
• Some cleaning experience is a PLUS but NOT REQUIRED
• Must be able to read and speak English

Shifts Available:

• Must be open to working weekends, days off will be during the week
• Must be open to working Holidays
• 1st shift 7:00am - 3:30pm $19.00 an hr.
• 2nd shift 3:00pm - 11:30pm $20.00 an hr.
• 3rd shift 11:00pm - 7:00am $21.50 an hr.
