The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of worship experience and a strong network of artists and collaborators. This role requires the ability to strategically engage with community audiences through grassroots and event efforts. This is a hands-on role that requires knowledge of the cultural landscape, as well as the ability to be a strong cross functional partner to multiple teams within the church.

Responsibilities

Develop and lead an expanded vision for worship and arts at VPC in support of the overall objective, “Artist Collective as Soul Space” - Work with Lead Pastor, other Worship Staff and Tech Team in planning each worship service and other worship events. Work collegially with other worship staff
- Supervise Worship Staff (current and to be hired in the future)
- Supervise Choir and Bells Director and Lead Musician
- Recruit, develop and provide leadership for musicians, singers/soloists and tech staff, both volunteer and paid, to support worship services.
- Work with Choir and Bells Director to incorporate Chancel Choir, Bell Choir and VPC musicians.
- Coordinate and plan at least 4 services outside Sunday morning worship, including Christmas Eve, Ash Wednesday, Holy Week and Longest Night.
- Attend staff meetings and retreats.
- Guide current artists and volunteers through the transition period with grace and compassion.
Required Elements
- Previous worship leadership experience
- Ability to lead worship and to train others as worship leaders
- Spiritual maturity and commitment to Christian faith
- Degree in Music or equivalent worship experience
- Capacity to supervise tech and administrative staff and production
- Ability to motivate musicians and technical team members
- Organization, administrative, and leadership skills
- Dependable, responsible, self-motivated and creative
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills
- Must be able to provide online video/audio samples of previous worship
- Wide range of musical and artistic influences that is evolving and growing
Qualifications:
- 5+ years worship experience
- Planning Center Software experience
- Recording experience
