Position Summary:
Supports the Credentialing Manager to process and complete the credentialing and re-credentialing functions of all providers in accordance with Joint Commission, HRSA, state, and federal requirements.
Key Functions & Responsibilities:
- Follows up with the primary source verification agency for all credentialing and re-credentialing applications.
- Accurately captures all critical data elements of provider applications, licensure, and credentialing with the various medical groups prior to processing.
- Ensures compliance with all required CME and facility-specific education/training requirements.
- Maintains a status on all active credentialing and/or re-credentialing applications.
- Assist with entering and validating provider information using credentialing software.
- Maintains all credentialing and re-credentialing timelines and schedules.
- Maintains a strict level of confidentiality on all matters pertaining to the provider.
- Maintains credentialing status reports and generates data as required.
- Maintain confidentiality of all employee data and related information.
- Assist in maintaining provider’s MCO portals, CAQH, and E Prep to enable accuracy and timeline efficiency with credentialing updates.
- Maintains spreadsheets that are updated weekly to keep all directors aware of provider enrollment status.
- Working on-site is an essential duty for the job.
- Perform other administrative duties as assigned by management.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School diploma. Associate or 4-year college degree preferred.
- Certified Provider Credential Specialist (CPCS) or related certification, preferred.
- Must be proficient with data entry, credentialing software is a plus.
- Demonstrated skill handling issues involving high levels of sensitivity and confidentiality.
- Must have good time management skills; ability to manage and meet multiple, and (often) competing deadlines; must be able to multitask and follow up on multiple assignments at the same time.
- Strong communication, listening, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
- Must be well organized and attentive to detail.
- Must be proficient at managing large volumes of paper and digital files.
- Must be customer-focused, and able to work well both independently and as part of a team.
- Other duties as assigned.
