Full Job Description:
An area within our Engine Division, as a Crank Grinder you will be responsible for operating a grinding lathe to grind the crankshaft rod and the main journals, to the required specifications. Set up, adjust and operate various external grinders for the production of parts and a variety of other products requiring similar manufacturing processes. In the performance of the operations assigned, the following representative equipment may be used; a variety of automatically or manually controlled external grinders, and assorted hand tools.
Job Type: Full-time Days Hours: M – F 8 AM – 4:30 PM
Requirements:
- Ability to read and calculate dimensional sizes tolerances, surface finishes, etc. using the appropriate instruments and tooling.
- Operate various types of complementary equipment and tooling, drill press, acetylene torch, bolt torque and tensioning tooling etc.
- Use various types of intricate measuring tools including indicators, micrometers, depth/height gauges, calipers, etc.
- Produce a quality product (within design specifications) in an efficient manner.
- Ability to recognize throughout the machining process if part is defective of within design specifications.
- Verify conformance of finished work piece to design specifications.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation.
The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, able to understand and properly read micrometers, lift up to 50lbs, and able to use required hand tools.
