Experience with shore cranes, friction and Hydraulic cranes including Liebherr, Link belt, American, Demag, Manitowoc
Assists the crane operating team 24 hours a day, 6 days a week with troubleshooting and part related questions when needed. Potentially traveling overnight and on weekends to assist.- Operates and inspects Cranes and related container handling equipment to diagnose defects.
- Diagnose, adjust, repair/replace virtually all parts on RMG Cranes and related container handling equipment.
- Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on Cranes and related equipment.
- Dismantle and reassemble heavy equipment using hoists and heavy hand and pneumatic tools.
- Apply electrical theory and related knowledge to test and modify electrical machinery and electrical control equipment and circuitry.
- Apply mechanical theory and related knowledge to test and modify machinery and equipment.
- Experienced in inspecting, testing, verifying dimensions and listening to equipment and parts to diagnose malfunctions
- using test instruments such as handheld computers, analyzers, micrometers, electrical meters and other testing equipment to keep in compliance with manufacturers specifications.
- Operates at heights either by climbing or through use of an Aerial boom/Hoist equipment to troubleshoot problems
- and evaluate correctness and completeness of repairs that have been done on the machine either by operating staff or contractors.
- Read, understand, interpret, and stays up to date with operating manuals, parts manuals, blueprints and technical drawings.
- Prepares for jobs by checking parts and drawings for accuracy and completeness.
- Complete jobs independently with little assistance from others.
- Properly fill out working reports, hour’s reports, timesheets, hour’s overviews and expense reports.
- Maintains a minimum set of company tools required for job performance.
- Cares and maintains company tools, machines and equipment.
- Attends training sessions as required.
- Trains and/or mentors others.
- Maintains a safe work environment by ensuring the group and self-follows established safety procedures. Sets a
- professional demeanor by respectful communication with all levels of Company and staff, keeping work areas clean and orderly, and promoting safety regulations and all other company programs.
- Demonstrated proficiency with all manners of tools, diagnostic equipment and rigging equipment a must.
- Strong background in 480v AC and DC electromechanical solid-state motor control systems and Variable Frequency Drives.
- Working background in Mechanical and Hydraulic systems such as gear boxes, reducers, drive systems and Pumps.
- Experienced in running conduit, pulling wires, testing and making electrical terminations and connections on Medium and Low Voltage electrical systems.
- Maintaining equipment parts, supply inventories, scheduled tasks using a maintenance program. · Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics and wiring diagrams is a must.
- Ability to interface with all levels of staff. Must be able to work alone and with a team, take direction and follow work rules, as well as, take on additional job responsibilities as needed or assigned.
- Must be comfortable with working at heights.
- Must have strong knowledge with safety around Medium and High Voltage Electrical systems.
- Acquires, uses and continuously develops personal technical and professional knowledge of products to assist customers and other company personnel.
- Apply technical expertise in developing work methods and procedures · Ability to work outside and withstand extreme weather conditions.
- Flexibility required; ability to work overtime as well as on weekends or on call duty. · Perform all work in compliance with Company standards, procedures, and regulatory
Requirements
Working knowledge of Watco Safety and Operating principles.- Follow written and verbal directions to complete assigned tasks on schedule.
- Read, write, and communicate in English & understand basic math.
- Minimum 4 years experience.
- Must be available for weekends and on-call.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, lift up to 60 pounds alone, twist, climb, etc.
- Must be able to talk and hear well enough to communicate with all Team Members, vendors, and customers.
