Centerpoint School is a therapeutic, special education independent school for middle and high school aged students. We believe that all students can learn and we support them in this learning through interest-based academics, individualized and small group experience, and supportive relationships with caring adults.

Centerpoint School is seeking Counseling Teachers to provide direct instruction, experiential education, and therapeutic support in our specialized educational and day treatment programs serving students with a broad range of social, emotional, behavioral, mental health and educational needs. Our ideal candidates are skilled in the integration of engaging, strengths-based activities and differentiated teaching and learning strategies with Vermont’s Educational Standards, Frameworks, and Proficiency-Based Learning models.

Our Counseling Teachers come from a variety of dynamic backgrounds, with degrees in education/ special education or a core subject area. Our Counseling Teachers have demonstrated motivation, skills, and capacity for centering the needs of our complex students and families, are excellent team collaborators, and are committed to creativity and innovation within specialized education.
