The Maintenance Coordinator maintains a safe and well-kept environment by servicing and repairing all facility equipment as directed by the Support Services Manager. The Maintenance Coordinator will have a primary responsibility for a variety of tasks related to maintaining and improving the Nottingham Assisted Living and Memory Care Residences, however will also support the needs of Independent Living as needed..
Responsibilities:
Job duties specific to this position:
- Ensures operation of building and equipment by performing quality work in fields such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical and mechanical work. The Specialist may perform general maintenance duties as necessary.
- Assists in the maintenance of the physical plant by performing scheduled preventative and quality maintenance duties and repair work.
- Supports process improvement by contributing to the planning and improving of maintenance duties and equipment schedules.
- Responds to all assigned resident and staff work orders as quickly and efficiently as possible. Completes all necessary documentation associated with work orders.
- Responsible for routine water temperature testing.
- Completes department audits to ensure safety and proper operation of all systems.
- Meets regulatory requirements by maintaining knowledge of and communicating applicable department policies, and Department of Health and OSHA regulations.
- Responds to emergency calls during weekdays, weeknights, weekends and holidays as assigned or needed.
- Assists at other Loretto locations as needed.
- Serves as the back up to the Support Services Manager when needed.
- Ensure maintenance related quality assurance audits and reports are completely timely, and ensure appropriate follow through with outstanding issues.
- High school diploma required.
- Certification or licensure in one or more trades strongly preferred.
- Possess a working knowledge in HVAC, electrical circuitry, plumbing, carpentry, boiler and chiller systems.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, which will include evenings and weekends.
- Ability to operate mechanical/hydraulic lifts, test equipment and hand tools.
An equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed above may be substituted for the above education and experience requirements.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, lift, grasp, talk, hear, see and perform repetitive motions.
- Ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
