We are seeking Cooks for our Assisted Living Facility located in Suffolk, VA

Responsibilities and duties for Cook:

• Coordinate and supervise food service preparation for residents.
• Manage a wide range of dietary restrictions.
• Manage USDA feeding programs
• Performs housekeeping activities as needed.
• Clean kitchen daily. Requisition cleaning supplies as necessary through Program Manager.
• Assist in safety and sanitation inspections as directed. Launder common-use items as necessary.
• Inspect food preparation and serving areas to ensure safe, sanitary food handling practices.
• Estimate anticipated food consumption and assist with purchasing, storage, and set-aside of food supplies as directed.
• Recordkeeping and accounting as it relates to food service
• Safeguards the civil rights of the individuals and the confidentiality of an individual’s data.
• Completes required documentation to Agency, licensure, and Medicaid standards.
• Attends staff meetings and in-service training as required.
• Other duties as assigned by the Program Manager, Administrator, or Director.

Qualifications and Skills for Cook:

• The successful candidate must have a high school diploma (or GED certificate),
• Certified Food Protection Manager, preferred
  • Two (2) years direct care in the residential program is preferred. Direct care experience may be waived if individual has the ability and interest required to complete training offered.
