GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENT: POSITION OPENING

Controller - Assigned to Clarenceville School District

IN THIS ROLE:

You will maintain current knowledge of generally accepted governmental accounting principles and practices as well as local, state and federal laws/regulations governing business operations and ability to implement necessary changes to programs, services and operations ensuring compliance. You will need to be familiar with the State of Michigan 1022 manual. You will research, analyze, reconcile and resolve discrepancies as well as be organized and effective with your time management.

WHAT WE NEED:

We are seeking an energetic, collaborative team member to manage and supervise all business office staff as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent of Business/Support Services in ensuring compliance with applicable school board policy and administrative rules and perform the activities of the accounting and treasury operations including managing the daily functions of general accounting, accounts payable, procurement, accounts receivable, payroll, grant & funded projects including, cash management, debt management, the preparation and the supervision of the annual audit as well as all applicable federal, state and local financial reporting.

WHAT YOU NEED:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Four or more years of related experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Powerpoint
  • Michigan School Business Official (MSBO) Chief Financial Officer certification preferred
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), and Certified in Financial Management (CFM) certifications are preferred
  • Public education and/or K12 school finance experience is preferred

SALARY DETAILS:

$75,474 - $87,527 based on experience, with a potential of earning up to $94,257 Annually / Exempt Position / 12-month work year
