Controller - Alexandria Job at Remington Alexandria Employers, LLC
A financial controller administers all financial activities of the hotel; implements and monitors effective controls and procedures, prepares accurate and prompt reports and analysis, and provides advice and input on financial decisions impacting the hotel.
Core Responsibilities:
1. Payroll
- Send all payroll documents for timely processing
- Resolve any tip-reporting discrepancies once notified
- Review and correct time data in Timesaver daily
- Complete the bi-weekly manager sign-off in Timesaver
- Send payroll spreadsheet to coordinator for benefit and tip entries by Monday
- Review the preview payroll reports to ensure accuracy of payroll
- Run, sign, and date the final version of the payroll register and personnel change report, before paychecks are dispersed on the scheduled pay date
2. Accounts Payable:
- Create purchase orders for all expenses before the expense is incurred
- Ensure proper coding and accurate order counts of all expenses
- Review received invoices and purchase orders
- Communicate purchase orders that need to be closed in the operating system
3. Accounts Receivable:
- Collect all open and future accounts receivable balances
- Review and post payments made to the lockbox or any wire payments
4. Month-End:
- Research and resolve all bank reconciliation discrepancies between the general ledger and actual bank activity
- Complete month-end documentation and submit it before the corporate deadline
- Collect tax exemptions documentation and provide it to corporate accounting
5. Research and respond to corporate on all open chargebacks inquiries
6. Update and complete the cash over/short tracking
7. Complete all cash-related tasks (preparation of the deposits & change orders)
8. Maintain daily audit pack and other on-property audit compliance processes/standards
9. Provide all audit documentation to corporate for any audit compliance requests
10. Complete 30/60/90 forecast files and update mid-month forecasts per the predetermined schedule
