Jacobs is searching for a dynamic Contractor Safety Manager with a scope of services and primary responsibility of providing contractor safety oversight for construction projects as agents for GE at the GE Aviation site located in Lynn, MA. You'll be a resource supporting the GE EHS team, Jacobs project management teams, and various GE contractors on site. This position reports directly to the Jacobs GE Aviation ISS Program Health and Safety Manager. In this position, you'll be able to effectively communicate with both internal and external customers and team members, detailed oriented, organized and be able to multi task effectively.
- Perform pre-qualification and insurance certificate oversight and data management for all contractors performing work at the facility.
- Conduct regular Contractor Safety Orientation and update orientation and program manual annually.
- GE Contractor Safety Program compliance auditing of contractor project work sites. Complete safety reports, enforce Zero Tolerance Policy, conduct incident investigations, assign corrective actions for unsafe conditions and track closure.
- Review contractor safety programs, safety risk analysis (SRA’s), site/project specific plans and ensure appropriate employee training records are available upon request.
- Assist site project managers with contractor risk recognition and attend pre-bid, pre-construction and project meetings.
- Liaison with site Senior Safety Specialist for technical support to the Lynn site GE Contractor Safety Manager’s safety program where they overlap with industrial operations & maintenance safety.
- Track contractor monthly labor hours and associated EHS metrics (track injury/incident rates, action items, notices of violation, etc.).

Here’s What You’ll Need:
High school diploma or equivalent- Ten (10) plus years of experience in the Health, Safety and Environment field
- Construction & Field safety experience
- Experience in training, field auditing
- Knowledge of OSHA standards, fire codes, industrial hygiene, HazMat incident procedures, and subcontractor HSE management
- Strong oral and written communications skills
- Ability to work with all levels of staff from technicians to senior management in a dynamic environment
- Ability to work successfully in fully integrated management structure, reporting through home office HSE management, project operations management, and client interfaces simultaneously
- Ability to become a First Aid CPR instructor within 6 months of hire
- Advanced Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to travel
- Valid driver’s license with no major infractions
Ideally, You’ll Also Have:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
- Experience in the development of workplace safety and security plans
- Experience addressing indoor air quality issues
- Experience with asbestos, lead and mold sampling and remediation projects
