Denver International Airport (DEN) Special Projects division is currently seeking a Contract Administrator to manage and administer a portfolio of contracts. This is a unique opportunity to have a direct impact on key contracts at DEN and be an integral member of a diverse and close-knit team. The position would report to Worldport Offices on 75th Avenue where a small office environment is enjoyed along with free on-site parking, just steps away from the office. This position will work closely with directors, project managers, DEN Finance, and the division’s senior leadership to manage contracts, task orders, change orders, related encumbrance processes, invoices, and contract compliance. This position will also be responsible for reporting expenditures and trends and related budget management, in a way that promotes transparency, timeliness and accuracy.
Key responsibilities include:
- Collaboration with DEN stakeholders and Program Management team to embody transparency, accountability, standardization with respect to program expenditures.
- Provide guidance and training to DEN, program personnel, and contractors and consultants regarding the encumbrance and invoice processes.
- Review and analyze financial data and contract requirements and administer contracts in accordance with such requirements, combined with city fiscal accountability rules and other City requirements.
- Application of a financial lens to the contract management processes in working with other Contract Administrators on the team to ensure standardized and consistent contract compliance and administration is realized.
- Apply financial analysis techniques and display ability to perform complex research when managing encumbrances and program budgets.
- Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with project management team, DEN leadership, DEN Legal and DEN Finance to provide effective, customer-forward services associated with the contract administration processes.
- Apply continuous improvement methodologies, perform research, analysis, reporting and obtain customer feedback to ensure improvements are effectively applied to administration business processes.
- Electronically file and retain all necessary project documentation according to established file structure and naming conventions.
- Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
About You
We are looking for proactive, flexible, and knowledgeable candidates with an aptitude for delivering a high level of customer service and to both internal and external customers. In addition, we are looking for candidates with some or all the following skills and experience:
- Familiarity with Workday or other financial management systems
- Demonstrated skills in understanding contractual requirements and applying compliance principles to stated requirements to a variety of contract types.
We are looking for candidates with some or all the following experience:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Political Science, Management, or a related field.
- Experience: Three (3) years of professional experience performing contract negotiation, contract administration, or conducting research and analysis in an area such as budget, compliance issues, or accounting.
- Equivalency: One (1) year of the appropriate type and level of experience may be substituted for each required year of post high school education. Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements.
FBI Background Check: FBI criminal background check is required for all positions at Denver International Airport (DEN). Employees are also required to report any felony convictions and/or moving violations to maintain this clearance and be eligible for continued employment. By position, a pre-employment physical/drug test may be required.
Snow / Emergency Duties: Denver International Airport is a 24/7/365 team operation. If weather conditions warrant or an emergency crisis occurs, all DEN employees can be required to work extended hours and/or shifts.
