Our Manufacturing function is the nerve center of our company. With more than 3,500 employees and 27 plants across our network, we are looking for visionary leaders who are ready to inspire and motivate our teams while helping to create innovative sleep and wellness solutions our customers rely on.
We are looking for multiple Continuous Improvement Managers in several of our plants across the United States including Jamestown, Greene County, Hazleton, West Palm Beach, Grovetown, Fredericksburg, Waycross, Cullman, Charlotte, and Seattle.
As the CIM you will be responsible for all continuous improvement efforts for the plant as well as deployment of company standards for Lean Transformation. This is a hands-on role, acting as the subject matter expert in Lean/Six Sigma methodology, trainer and coach to the entire plant organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Foster a safety culture and the implementation of safety policies and training in compliance with the company safety program and OSHA regulations to eliminate work related injuries.
- Design, manage and deploy continuous improvement processes within the plant.
- Responsible for deployment of company standard processes and methods focused on Lean Transformation.
- Facilitate Kaizen events and support the adoption of PDCA cycle on the shop floor and continuous improvement projects through cross-functional team facilitation and project management.
- Use lean manufacturing tools (e.g., value stream mapping, Kaizen, Charters, 5S, Gemba walks, LMS, root cause problem solving) to identify and develop solutions that drive operational improvement.
- Act as primary liaison with steering committees. Network with other plant’s KPOs to leverage programs designed to continually improve operations and eliminate waste.
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
- Minimum of 5 – 7 years of experience strongly preferred
- Facilitation of many Kaizen events
- Expert knowledge in lean methodologies and tools
- Experience leading or significant participation in plant lean transformation effort
- Certified Six Sigma Black or Green Belt preferred
- MS Office Suite (proficient)
- Strong written, oral, and analytical skills
- Problem identification and resolution skills
- Ability to plan, prioritize and organize work without close supervision; ability to effectively handle multiple projects with track record of successful project completion
Limited travel (20%). Some travel to other plants and/or Corporate office to support Lean/Continuous Improvement efforts may be required. Cross functional team environment. Role requires significant time on the plant floor.
