Responsibilities

The role of the Compliance Administrative Assistant is responsible for daily management, processing, and maintenance of Compliance, for on-site operations, including quality control file reviews. Support various site compliance requirements to provide adherence to all housing programs .

  • Collects and completes all necessary documentation, including 3rd party verification of income, assets/income from assets, and student status, for both initial move-in certifications and timely resident annual certifications in accordance with Federal, State and Local housing requirements.
  • Inspects all types of certification packets for completeness
  • Accurately enters compliance information into YARDI software, generates essential certification and collects final applicant/resident signatures
  • Maintains resident relations to promote a positive image for the development, housing programs, and Roers Companies
  • Facilitate quality control file review process - thorough understanding of all regulatory compliance records in accordance with state, federal, and local regulations
  • Maintains digital resident files in accordance with the applicable housing program regulations and Roers Companies’ policies
  • Complies with all fair housing laws
  • Prepares various compliance reports to present to the Compliance Manager
  • Assist with lease-up activities of new sites, which may include attending meetings, providing staffing support, and organization of new resident records applicable with local, state, and federal requirements
  • Assisting with training of property management and/or affordable housing leasing staff
  • Direct correspondence with 3rd party compliance (RightSource)
  • Assist with completing monthly and Annual Year End Owner Reporting Requirements
  • Possible travel to properties in state and out of state to help assist the property managers with compliance
  • Other tasks & duties as assigned based on business need
Requirements:
  • Compliance experience preferred but willing to train (responsible for processing paperwork and regulation compliance for a property or properties with LIHTC and HUD Program, such as HUD’s HOME program)
  • High School/GED required, 4 year degree preferred.
  • Understanding of Affordable Housing Programs (HUD / State Housing Programs) and fair housing preferred.
  • Ability to type and have working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Demonstrated proficiency and accuracy with numbers and details.
  • Ability to maintain an accurate record-keeping system.
  • Organized and able to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Outstanding customer service.
  • Must be organized, detail oriented and have good time management skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills and ability to interact with wide range of people.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, understanding that your scheduled workdays may vary according to staffing and property needs.
