CNC Machine Shop Operations & Plant Manager (Xfactory) Job at Next Technologies
Our company manufactures Xdesk (xdesk.com), the award-winning line of power adjustable desks and workstations. Most of our product line is custom, microprocessor controlled and electric actuated. We are a Central Texas-based manufacturing company seeking hire an Operations Manager to facilitate and affect change as we expand into a new and larger facility. Locations are in Temple and Salado, Texas. This is a unique opportunity to manage and lead an entire plant with a high level of autonomy.

Key Position Roles:
- Responsible for four key departments: Assembly, Machine Shop, Supply Chain, and Quality Control
- Owns three critically important KPI's: On-time Delivery, Quality, Labor Cost per Unit
- The Operations Manager will be at home on the factory floor, spending at least 90% of time on the factory floor. This is not a behind the desk position. This is a position for those that enjoy being hands on. You do not hesitate to roll up your sleeves and show someone how it's done.
- Candidate will serve as the subject matter expert in assembly process.
- Supervises and trains production associates for growth and development by ensuring associates are qualified, trained, and meet standards.
- Monitor and Evaluate performance of team members and associates through constructive feedback (incl. written reviews, and corrective counseling, etc.). Candidate is fully comfortable holding others accountable for their performance and output.
- Make necessary changes to accelerate the completion of Orders and deliver 98% of orders on time. Responsible for increasing output and improving productivity.
- Ensures that daily production goals are met and total labor costs are within budget.
- Oversees and participates in the development of performance, efficiency, and product quality standards for Assembly Unit.
- Other duties as required.
Requirements:
- 5 yrs + experience in a manufacturing organization
- Must be highly technical and mechanically inclined
- Must be comfortable managing people and giving direction.
- Comfortable spending 90% of the day on the manufacturing floor. This is not a position where a person can close the office door and spend significant time buried in spreadsheets and paperwork.
- Must understand CAD drawings
- Bonus for experience in machine shop, metal working or wood working
- Bonus for ability to use CAD software, operate CNC equipment or program CNC equipment

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
