Planned Parenthood of Northern New England (PPNNE) is seeking an experienced & knowledgeable practitioner for a Clinician Quality & Training Specialist (CQTS) position based out of Maine, New Hampshire or Vermont. This position will flex up to 30hrs/week, with 2 clinical shifts & 2 Administrative shifts per week. The Clinician Quality & Training Specialist role supports the Regional Clinical Director (RCD) and works collaboratively with the Training and Operations and Health Center teams to coordinate and provide competency-based training conducive to adult learners with varying learning styles for all new clinicians. This position supports RCDs and Health Care Delivery leadership team with administrative tasks, project support, workflow development and training. This role will function as a subject matter expert (SME) in EPIC clinician documentation standards and workflows and contributes to timely system updates, collecting clinician enhancement requests, facilitating enhancement prioritization, and contributes to timely and effective team communications. The CQTS will also monitor and periodically audit ongoing clinician performance to ensure clinicians adhere to trauma-informed, evidence-based, patient-centric care that is individualized to patient’s personal preferences and values, and complies with PPFA clinical standards, and all state and federal regulations.

CHARACTERISTIC RESPONSBILITES:

  • Plan, develop, and deliver trainings for Clinicians. Trainings may include group, individual, and agency-wide in-services. Training responsibilities include classroom, remote, and hands-on practical instruction designed to replicate the trainees’ actual work environment.
  • Support Training and ops specialist during HCA Clinical trainings in education of hard skills ex: blood draws and Blood pressure.
  • Develop training tools, course materials and other learning resources for online and in-person training modules.
  • Performs all duties of PPNNE Advance Practice Clinician, including providing clinical care at least 2 days per week.
  • Provides exceptional patient centered care in a manner that ensures compliance, with current PPNNE efficiency and productivity standards
  • Participates in quality assurance audits
  • Performs clinician onboarding and training in conjunction with the RCDs.
  • Update and revise training checklists and documentation, course content and teaching methodology to ensure consistency with health center operations. Actively seek ways to improve instruction and continuously develop and enhance professional skills.
  • Assesses trainees’ understanding of training content. Communicate performance during training and content covered to Site Managers, and RCDs through established processes.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of organization training needs by participating in agency-wide training program planning. Communicates training plan and offerings to the organization.
  • Facilitate communication, problem solving and sharing of system ideas
  • Work on special projects, task forces, and committees as assigned.
  • Participate in Epic training and train staff on Epic.
  • Contribute to the creation and maintenance of health center workflows and resources for staff. Identify opportunities to streamline operations and support ongoing efforts to standardize operations.
  • Assess Press Ganey data and identify training opportunities
  • Support implementation of new initiatives and optimization for health centers and PPNNE operations. This includes figuring out how the new initiative will work at health centers, developing work flows so that the change is implemented consistently across the health centers and developing/updating materials to support the implementation of the initiatives.
  • Perform administrative tasks and functions to support operations and training
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of PPNNE’s Health Center policies and procedures
  • Be familiar with, and able to comfortably discuss and promote all services provided by PPNNE
  • Model the delivery of excellent customer service that is at the core of all aspects of operations
  • Provide on going affiliate/department rounding as assigned to deliver training and support.
  • Identify trends that may require additional training focus, in-service needs, policy and procedure modifications, system modification, etc.
  • Promote the effective use of the Epic system; identify and prevent bad habits and work-arounds.
  • Serve as a change agent to promote, effect, and support change in workflow and behaviors related to the Epic system implementation(documentation at the point of care, online review of information, etc.).
  • Demonstrate a commitment to Planned Parenthood’s mission related to health equity, especially centering on racial equity, and a deep sense of accountability to community.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to learning about and enhancing practices related to racial equity and the impact of structural racism on health care systems.

  • May perform other relevant duties as directed by Regional Clinical Directors and/or the Director of Training and Operations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Current PPNNE Clinician, preferred
  • Credentialed Epic trainer, preferred
  • Flexibility, initiative, creative and curious thinking, and an ability to learn quickly is required.
  • Travel within Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont is required and overnight stays and/or extended work hours are essential to this position
  • Commitment to and ability to incorporate customer service principles into all aspects of the job.
  • Ability to adapt to different adult learning styles
  • Possess strong training and presentation skills, including public speaking skills
  • Ability to prepare, implement and evaluate training programs
  • Ability to work effectively with a wide range of people in a variety of settings
  • Ability to manage group dynamics effectively and confidently
  • Ability to work effectively on a team and to participate in ongoing feedback with colleagues
  • Ability to suspend judgment and work with complex personal and agency-wide issues
  • Strong aptitude for learning new computer applications
  • Strong working knowledge of software applications, including –but not limited to -Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, databases, etc.
  • Ability to keystroke for up to 4 hours, sit for up to 4 hours a day
  • Ability to operate all normal office equipment and a working knowledge of Microsoft and medical systems software

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

  • The range of pay for this position is $49.47 – 73.22/hr, depending on the level of experience
