Background:

Functional Family Therapy (FFT) is a short-term, high-quality intervention program with an average of 12 to 14 sessions over approximately four months. FFT works primarily with 11- to 18-year-old youth who have been referred for behavioral or emotional problems by the juvenile justice, mental health, school, or child welfare systems. Services at Wellmore are conducted in the home with all family members present.

Referrals can be made by DCF, Probation, Schools, other community providers, and hospitals, as well as self-referrals from families.

FFT consists of five major components; engagement, motivation, relational assessment, behavior change and generalization.

The FFT Clinical Supervisor is a dynamic supervisor position in which the supervisor and team provide home-based family therapy to improve familial relationships and communication.

Supervisory responsibilities include direct services with adolescents and their families including but not limited to evaluation/assessment; home & community-based services; outreach; case and care management; family therapies; record keeping; collaboration with other professionals, team members and related community services (including consultation and/or community and/or school placements).

The Team Leader assists in the supervision, development, and implementation of assigned programs, services, and staff.

Location: Waterbury

Schedule: flexible Monday-Friday

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or Social Work and a Connecticut license as a Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or a Doctorate in Psychology and a Connecticut license as a Psychologist is required.
  • A reliable car, a valid driver's license, and automobile insurance are required.
