Clinical Director Job at Suicide Prevention of Yolo County
Overview of Position
Provides clinical support to all crisis line volunteers and clinical agency personnel through direct contact, telephone, and email. Assumes overall clinical management responsibility for agency personnel and programs. The Clinical Director is a highly visible management position that assists the development and execution of clinically oriented operational policies for the organization. The Clinical Director supervises the program directors and staff, and ensures the agency’s programmatic work is carried out in a manner consistent with SPYC's Code of Ethics and overall policies. The Clinical Director works under the general supervision of the Executive Director.
We are seeking a strong clinician with leadership skills and program implementation to oversee agency growth as the crisis line implements the new nationwide 988 hotline number.
The position hours can be fairly flexible and include some telework days after an initial onboarding period.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Clinical license required (i.e. MFT, LCSW, LPCC, Ph.D., or Psy.D.)
- Clinical experience in crisis intervention or other related clinical strategies
- Strong supervisory, project management skills and experience.
Essential Functions
Responsible for all aspects of clinical program planning in accordance with best practices, including but not limited to:
- Collaborate with Crisis Line Program Director for overall management of crisis line operations.
- Oversee implementation of 988 operations, adjusting course as necessary for successful implementation.
Personnel Management:
- Supervise and evaluate performance of direct and indirect reports.
- Work with Crisis Line Program Director to ensure 24/7 staff and volunteer scheduling.
- Identify “burn-out” risk and employ preventive measures.
- Identify and communicate frequent caller updates and call management issues.

Today, SPYC is among the oldest suicide prevention crisis lines in the nation and operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The agency also serves teens in Yolo County through the Allied Services for Kids (ASK) crisis lines, the Davis and Woodland School Safety Lines, as well as through the “SOS Signs of Suicide®” school education and prevention program. Support groups for those who have lost a loved one to suicide are also provided by the agency. Each year, SPYC provides immediate telephone support to more than 5,000 callers who are contemplating suicide or are in severe psychological distress.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
