CLERICAL ASSISTANT 1

Full-time, Hourly
Hourly Pay Range: $15.37 to $19.45

Job Summary: The Clerical Assistant 1 will perform a variety of digitally oriented clerical duties for prosecutors and prosecution teams in the District Attorney's Office. This position will support the "discovery" process by assisting those who organize, maintain, and distribute digitized discovery items received from referring Law Enforcement Agencies.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Purpose, format, and processing procedures of digital documents. Read, write, and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondences, and memos. General office clerical practices and procedures. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, other department personnel, Law Enforcement Agencies, and the public. Communicate clearly and concisely orally and in writing. Assist in other digital discovery and technology tasks as needed.

- Analyze incoming electronic evidence received from referring Law Enforcement Agencies. Make entries into and complete such reviews of PROTECT as may be related to case review and discovery process. Transfers digital files to the proper digital file folders.
- Maintain defense attorney database within PROTECT to ensure that digital discovery can be made available to defense. Cross-reference PROTECT data with CCAP data and the Wisconsin State Bar Association.
- Support the Discovery Unit in requesting updated and/or missing discovery items from Law Enforcement Agencies. Providing Microsoft Office support to District Attorney Legal and Support staff in the discovery process.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- Current Resident of the State of Wisconsin
- HS diploma/GED equivalent
- Three (3) years of practical clerical work experience that includes experience in customer service, data entry and typing.
- Push/Pull/Lift/Carry up to 15lbs
