JOB OVERVIEW – This position is assigned to the support services division, which provides expertise, oversight and practical service to the secure facilities in area of Inmate Classification and Inmate Grievance. There are approximately 700 employees supported by this Team. This position is primarily responsible to assure the operational success of the classification system.

The position functions semi-independently with direct supervision from the Program Manager. The position provides information via reports to Administration and other staff and helps review procedures to assure the most effective and efficient systems for recording, tracking and reporting data. The position regularly deals with confidential information, and the incumbent must be able to safeguard that confidential status.

Work is performed in a penal institution for adult male felons. Duties include direct exposure to potentially dangerous inmates who may be upset with a determination in PREA cases, Placement, or other Departmental decisions. Serving notice of errors in classifications and movement requests, or incomplete project assignments from staff who disagree with a decision. The Prison compound is extensive, and the incumbent will be expected to go to the various locations occasionally. The job also entails occasional lifting/carrying up to 40 pounds.


QUALIFICATIONS – High school diploma or GED and at least three years of job-related work experience at an executive level.

Work experience must include office operations, business communications using standard and specialized software applications, including word processing, databases, and spreadsheets as well as the ability to learn and use new applications.

Other combinations of education and experience will be evaluated on an individual basis.
