Civil Engineer – Land Development

Boyd Civil Engineering, Inc. is seeking an intelligent, talented, and enthusiastic Civil Engineer to join our Orlando-based consulting firm. The right candidate will be responsible for the civil plan production, design, and permitting for residential and commercial land development while working under the direction of the Project Engineer and Project Manager. The Civil Engineer will be responsible for assisting other Senior Civil Engineers and Project Managers with the design and development of construction plans and details for a variety of large-scale, high-profile land development projects including residential, commercial, industrial, and resort & hospitality developments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design work for large-scale, high-profile land development projects in the residential, commercial, resort, and hospitality industries.
  • Perform design calculations, hydrology modeling, and hydraulic modeling.
  • Work with CAD Designers to complete construction plans and details.
  • Assist Project Managers with all aspects of projects including design, permitting and permit tracking, construction phase services, and the preparation of submittal packages.

Required Qualifications:

  • BS Degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering.
  • Engineer Intern (EI) license in the State of Florida or the ability to obtain a Florida E.I. license within six months of the start date.
  • Proficient in hydraulic and hydrologic design and modeling.
  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Experience performing engineering calculations and reports using Excel.
  • Client-focused with strong attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Team player with the ability to collaborate well with others and build long-term relationships.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
