Summary:

Island Creek is seeking a Civil Engineer V to provide on-site Civil and Structural Engineering Support for the United States Air Force (USAF) 787th Civil Engineering Squadron at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst (JB MDL) in Lakehurst, New Jersey.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Provide support for structural assessments of buildings and structures identified by the Project Manager (PM) or QAE. Assist in the creation of structural investigation reports, with the recommendations for repair, to the PM or QAE for review and approval. Prepare drawings and/or Scopes of Work for structural work on, or as part of an overall project for renovation or construction of facilities in support of JB MDL Missions.
• Coordinate with other JB MDL engineering personnel, customers, base operations (OPS) personnel and contracting, to review proposed projects for compliance with established Federal, State, local, and Air Force regulations. Provide technical expertise support for civil/structural engineering considerations related to programmed installation facility repair, renovation, and construction projects. Provide written report of findings and recommendations via email to the PM upon his or her request.
• All meetings will be coordinated with the assigned PM, or QAE. Assist in the coordination of and attend, all project development meetings, contract review meetings, pre-construction meetings, site visits, and other pertinent meetings to coordinate information with installation activities.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Experience utilizing Microsoft Office and Auto-CAD applications.

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position does not include supervisory responsibilities.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday 7:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Travel:

Local travel is required for this position. A valid state issued driver’s license is required.

Required Education:

BS in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering from an accredited college or university as recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.

Required Experience:

Five (5) years of experience with an emphasis on structures and/or structural engineering.

Work Authorization/Security Clearance:

This position is subject to a criminal history background check and Wants/Warrants check. Ideal candidates will currently have installation access to Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst (JB MDL), however, candidates with US Citizenship or non-U.S. citizens with a Work Permit Visa, Passport, or Alien Registration Card with immigration number will be considered. Must be able to receive a Government Common Access Card (CAC), access Government systems, and pass a criminal history background check and Wants/Warrants check.
