I'm looking for a dependable part-time or possibly full-time substitute in my Family Childcare. The substitute will cover for me or my assistant when time off is needed, such as for doctor appointments or during sick days.

The position requires certain physical and mental demands, including:

• Lifting up to 50 pounds for moving and carrying children
• Accompanying children outside daily, in a variety of weather conditions
• Being physically active by walking and running alongside the children while playing with them
• Reaching for things in cabinets or on shelves
• Moving around for most of the day, whether through interacting with the children or carrying them in/out of the building
• Going up and down staircases while carrying the children in/out of the building or up/down staircases
• Rocking babies to sleep
• Sitting beside cots on the floor to put children to sleep

Many cleaning tasks must also be done, such as:

• Cleaning the table after children eat and after activities
• Sweeping the floor
• Spraying toys with a bleach and water solution
• Helping children pick up toys
• Removing trash from the room
• Cleaning windows and mirrors after children leave handprints

The job can be stressful as well, since it requires:

• Being patient with the children
• Focusing on tasks at hand
• Paying attention to details

Other requirements include:

• Helping with lesson plan activities and circle time
• Childcare qualifications including CPR, First Aid, breast feeding, and being ADA certified
• Being able to pass background checks
• Having previous experience in working with children 0 to 5 years old
• Being reliable and having available transportation to and from work
