Cimarron Lumber and Supply Company is a family-owned partnership which provides administrative and operational support for Sutherlands home improvement companies along with other family operated banking and real estate enterprises.

The company is seeking a unique candidate for a team position in which the individual will work closely in the administrative team composed of the current COO, CFO, HR Manager and other administrative management and non-management positions. The objective is to find the right candidate to eventually transition into and assume the current COO’s responsibilities and leadership upon his retirement.

The ideal candidate will be able to understand and embrace the company’s collaborative business environment, culture, and the unique dynamics and complexities of multi-generation family ownership.

A flexible and adaptable operating management style and ability to work as part of the team is imperative. Managing project deadlines and operations with the awareness and resilience of frequently changing priorities is very important.

The COO provides leadership and strategic vision to the organization. The position leads operational, managerial and administrative procedures, reporting structures and operational controls of the company. The COO position, along with the CFO and HR works closely with several individuals involved in all phases of the business, providing support to 50 home improvement retail centers and other family enterprise ventures.

Desired Experience, Skills and Competencies

· Business degree with the ability to review and understand contracts, financial statements and general real estate transactions

· Experience with private, family-owned company

· Experience managing departments and leaders

· Retail – direct and/or support role;

· Collaborative team building and leadership philosophy and style

· Strong communication skills – written, oral, and listening

· Strong computers skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $125,000.00 per year
