Overview:
Reporting to the CIO, the Chief Data Officer (CDO) is responsible for driving the strategic vision and execution of the club’s data-related initiatives. As a CDO, you will lead a team responsible for managing our data assets, defining data governance policies, implementing data analytics tools and technologies, driving data-driven decision making across the organization, overseeing project management activities related to data and IT initiatives, and implementing automation solutions to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our data and business operations. Works closely with business line leaders to ensure that data is used to optimize our operations, improve member experiences, and drive revenue growth.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement a comprehensive data strategy that supports our organization's overall strategic vision and goals. Manage and oversee all data-related initiatives, including data integration, data warehousing, data modeling, data analytics, and data visualization.

Establish and refine data governance policies and procedures to ensure data quality, cleansing, integrity, and security. Understand and adopt AAA Northeast’s risk management practice which places cyber security as its top priority closely followed by business continuity.

Build and lead a team of data professionals, including data engineers, data analysts, and data scientists. Manage the integration/centralization of Marketing Analytics into IT.

Coordinate evolving business requirements for metadata standards related to searching and using related assets. Creation of new metadata models as part of master data management business requirements gathering and implementation. Ensure that the taxonomies and metadata meet needs and expectations of internal/external users.

Lead the development and implementation of data analytics tools and technologies that ensure data resources are integrated, understandable, accessible, and secure. Create and maintain enterprise KPI’s & dashboards to enable data-driven decision making across the organization.

Implement automation solutions to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our data operations, including data integration, data modeling, and data analytics.

Responsible for IT Project Management across the club, ensuring corporate IT related projects are centralized, delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across the organization, including business line leaders, IT leaders, and data users. Lead development, normalization, and maintenance of enterprise data concepts, terms and definitions. Develop and communicate new business rules and data dictionaries.

Enterprise CRM management including specialized integrations between legacy software systems, user adoption & support. Responsible for the IT component of Salesforce integration.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's in computer science, data science, statistics, or a related field is required
Master's or Ph.D in a related field preferred

Experience:
At least 15 years of experience in data management, data analytics, or a related field, with at least 10 years in a leadership role(s) leading people and an IT function(s) in a variety of businesses and/or industries.

Skills:
  • Possess an excellent understanding of CRM, ERP applications that generate data.
  • Ability to manage team of varied experience levels and independent individuals, nurturing talent, hiring and goal setting is required.
  • Strong understanding of data management principles and practices, including data governance, data quality, data modeling, and data integration.
  • Experience with data analytics tools and technologies, such as SQL, Python, R, Tableau, and Power BI.
  • Strong leadership skills, with a proven ability to build and lead high-performing teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong business acumen, with the ability to build a compelling business case for change.
  • Ability to think strategically and to develop and implement a comprehensive data strategy that supports the organization's overall goals and objectives.
  • Strong project management skills, with a demonstrated ability to manage and oversee complex data-related projects from start to finish.

  • Experience with implementing automation solutions to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of data operations.
