POSITION REPORTS TO: Store Manager

JOB SUMMARY: Provide effective checkout service by totaling merchandise, bagging merchandise and providing friendly service

HOURS: Part-time. Possibility for full-time hours. Hours vary based on business need.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Process customer orders at the checkout area in an accurate, efficient and friendly manner

2. Follow appropriate measures to secure the till and its contents at all times

3. Sell postage stamps and lottery tickets upon request

4. Assist in bagging merchandise for customers when Courtesy Clerks are unavailable

5. Provide information to customers for locating merchandise or provide other information as appropriate

6. Restock display racks surrounding the checkstand as time permits

7. Stock and face display racks, coolers, etc., as time permits and as instructed by Keypeople

8. Clean checkout counter and surrounding area daily as time permits

9. Organize cash drawer

QUALIFICATIONS

1. No employee shall pose a direct threat to the health or safety of self or others

2. Must be able to communicate pleasantly and efficiently with all customers, vendors and fellow employees, under all circumstances

3. Must demonstrate a friendly, outgoing approach to dealing with others

4. Must be able to meet the state age requirements for selling cigarettes and alcohol beverages

5. Must be age 18 or older

6. Must be able to get along with others

Roth's was founded by Herman C. Jochimsen and Orville N. Roth on August 5th, 1962 when they opened their first store in Silverton, Oregon. Roth's brand of customer service, cleanliness, product quality and community involvement made possible the opening of the first of five Salem-area stores only three years later. Another serving McMinnville was opened in that first decade.

Roth's expansion continued in the 1980's with stores in Independence, and four more in Salem. A relocation and expansion of the McMinnville operation started in 1994, a new location in Stayton in 1996, and the purchase of an existing supermarket in the Hayesville area of Salem in 1998.

Today, Roth's has 9 supermarkets in the Mid-Willamette Valley with a continued focus on customer service. We are fast-paced, engaging, inclusive and our goal is to provide our Customers with the highest quality products at competitive prices with excellent services in a clean atmosphere with friendly, well-trained employees.
