GENERAL SUMMARY
The YBASE Site Director is directly responsible for all aspects of program development and implementation, staff supervision and collection of program participant fees. In addition, every position in the YMCA of Coastal Georgia, Inc. is responsible for upholding the Judeo-Christian principles that are central to our mission by modeling behaviors that exemplify the four pillars of character - caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES
- Plans, schedules, implements and oversees daily program activities of staff and students.
- Collect weekly fees for all program registrants in accordance with YMCA policy.
- Maintain payment records on all participants in the database CORE to include past dues and tax letters for participants, Provides weekly updates to parents and YBASE office regarding current and or past due accounts. Responsible for informing program participants of outstanding dues and consequences associated with non-payment.
- Responsible for locking up and assisting in securing program location.
- Neat and accurate book and record keeping (group attendance, individual child records etc) submitted weekly.
- Site deposits turned in weekly and reconciled against participant accounts.
- Frequent communication with YMCA YBASE Administrator.
- Establishes and maintains regular contacts with parents of program participants.
- Supervises and directs YBASE personnel both paid and volunteer.
- Distributes snacks daily and required snack count paperwork.
- Orders and maintains instruction materials and supplies.
- Carries out registration and enrollment processes.
- Organizes and coordinates special events and activities.
- Performs staff evaluations and communicates with district coordinator on any and all staffing/parent concerns.
- Maintains adequate staffing to maintain specified teacher: participant ratios according to licensing requirements.
- Attends staff meetings, conferences and workshops.
- Participates in the hiring process, staff development and training activities.
- Seeks feedback on program from all involved and makes changes as indicated.
- Relates and communicates effectively with parents, students and fellow staff members.
- Assist in the overall retention and satisfaction of YMCA members through appropriate customer service.
- Follows and adheres to any and all COVID-19 strategies and protocols.
- Assist in the annual Priceless Gifts fundraising program for the YMCA.
- Maintain a positive and cheerful attitude with staff, parents and children.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
The YBASE Site Director is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the program site. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
QUALIFICATIONS

- Sound working knowledge of child development principles.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Professional training in working with school age children.
- Ability to develop and implement daily / weekly lesson and activity plans.
- Ability to foster positive staff, parent and child relations
- Ability to supervise multiple part-time staff.
- Must be able to pass a criminal background checks and LiveScan fingerprint check in accordance with Bright from the Start Licensing requirements.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
TCC, CDA, ParaPro Certificate, Early Childhood Education Degree and or Bachelor’s Degree in any field with 3 months qualifying child care experience is required prior to hire date. For further clarification, you may consult the Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning regulations.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add and subtract three digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- CPR and First Aid required within 30 days of employment
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check and obtain authorization to work with children under the Georgia Department of Labor and YMCA guidelines
- 10 hours of childcare trainings per year must be achieved and maintained in and above the CPR First Aid training.
