Patients come from more than 25 counties to our Mankato and Jordan, MN clinics. We serve patients who are geographically isolated in rural areas, and many who have other barriers to healthcare. These include cultural and language barriers, poverty, homelessness, and many others. This position would be located within the Fairmont Schools.
Job Responsibilities
- Work as member of the medical team, assist the Physicians/Nurse Practitioners, Medical Services Manager, and ODHC Administration in ensuring an efficient and effective model of practice and a positive philosophy/work environment.
- Conduct age appropriate and comprehensive or episodic health assessments of patients with real or potential, acute, or chronic problems with emphasis on wellness and patient education.
- Perform physical examinations and order required immunizations.
- Establish diagnoses, order, and interpret studies, perform, and monitor therapeutic procedures, assess and/or manage follow up care.
- Prescribe and regulate medications relative to the patient’s health care needs.
- Record and document health appraisal data, in a timely and accurate manner, necessary to maintain and/or coordinate required services.
- Communicate findings of healthcare assessments, diagnostic tests, etc. to patients, peers, and other health care providers in a timely manner and/or as determined by clinic policy/procedure.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Qualifications:
- Board certified, MN licensed Nurse Practitioner with current DEA license.
- A minimum of 3 years related work experience.
- Abide by ethical standards of licensing board.
- Comply with credentialing requirements.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Successful crisis management skills with experience in diffusing difficult situations.
- Confidence, professional judgement, and grace under pressure.
- Bilingual skills a plus.
