Certified Mental Health Technician Job at St. Luke's Health System
- Monitors patients’ physical safety, physical and emotional well-being, and reports unusual behavior or physical complaints to the nursing staff.
- Observes and influences patient behavior, de-escalates tension.
- Acts as a patient advocate communicating with nursing. Coordinates care as directed.
- Oversees the safety and security of patients at high risk of suicide on the acute care setting. Provides one to one observation with the ability to intervene immediately according to hospital policy.
- Ensures safe and healthy environment of care. Monitors the physical environment for safety risks.
- Completes documentation in the electronic medical record, including safety checklists, observed behaviors, interventions provided, etc.
- Under the direction of nursing, coordinates care elements, collaborates with Behavioral Health Service Line.
- Provides therapeutic activities as appropriate in the acute care environment.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience: 0 experience
- Licenses/Certifications:
- American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Provider certification
- Must have one of the following two:
- Certified Mental Health Technician (CMHT) from National Career Certification Board (NCCB)
- Certified Psychiatric Technician, Level 1 from American Association of Psychiatric Technicians (AAPT)
