Centralized Diagnostic Imaging Specialist Job at HealthNet, Inc.
What you’ll do as a Centralized Diagnostic Imaging Specialist at HealthNet:
The Diagnostic Imagining (DI) position is responsible for the scheduling of DI, for the tracking of DI and will require interactions with patients, with facilities that perform Diagnostic Images and with Insurance Companies to obtain Prior Authorizations.
- Greet and determine customer’s needs via telephone.
- Provide directions to locations where Diagnostic Images will be performed.
- Accurately complete insurance verification, complete all prior authorizations as indicated by the insurance Companies and schedule all Diagnostic Images as ordered by the Providers.
- Provide and explain information as required by regulatory agencies of federal (HIPAA) and state laws.
DI Workflow:
- Receive initial DI Order from Provider.
- Verify all Insurance Information.
- Verification of Patient and/or Provider Facility Preference.
- Determine if PA is required and completes the process.
- Schedule DI.
- Ensure that all required documentation has been forwarded to the Insurance Company and to the Facility that will perform the DI.
- Patient Notification of Appointment Date, Time, and Location.
- Tracking of Scheduled DI.
- Ensuring that ordering Provider receives the results from the performing facility.
- Comply with HealthNet DI Tracking Policies.

What you’ll need as a Centralized Diagnostic Imaging Specialist at HealthNet:
- Requires High School Diploma.
- Medical Assistant Certificate from an accredited program preferred.
- Knowledge of medical/insurance background preferred.
The skills you’ll bring as a Centralized Diagnostic Imaging Specialist at HealthNet:
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
- Ability to multitask and work in a high-volume patient environment.
- Ability to work as a team and independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to provide confidentiality.
- Ability to interpret insurance information; knowledge of clinical practices and medical terminology, along with ICD-10 and CPT knowledge preferred.
- Understanding of data entry and basic math skills.
